The sciatic nerve is a large nerve that runs from the lower back down the back of each leg. When something injuries or puts pressure on this nerve, it can cause pain in the lower back that spreads to the hip buttocks and leg.
Common causes of sciatica include herniated / bulging discs pressing against the sciatic nerve
The most common cause of sciatica is a herniated disc. Herniated discs occur when the soft center of the spinal disc pushes through a crack in the exterior casing. Other causes of sciatica are degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis and joint dysfunction.
A herniated or bulging disc is one of the most common forms of spinal injury. Many people who suffer from herniated discs do not even know that anything is wrong until the condition impinges on a nerve in the spinal column and starts causing pain. Depending upon the location and severity of the injury, it can cause excruciating pain, loss of motion and many additional adverse effects.

- Burning sensation
- Muscles weakness
